Man who joked on Facebook he would marry his dog thanks to same-sex marriage laws is fired

FacebookRyan Uhler, of Cape Coral, got fired after saying he was going to marry his dog on Facebook
Bad move: Ryan Uhler was mocking the right-wing view that allowing same-sex marriage could open the door to people getting hitched to their pets
A man who posted on Facebook that he planned on marrying his dog after same-sex marriage became legal in the US has been FIRED from his job.
Ryan Uhler was mocking the right-wing view that allowing same-sex marriage could open the door to people getting hitched to their pets.
But it turns out his employers failed to see the funny side, and the Cape Coral, Florida, resident has been let go from his role as a digital marketing specialist.
The 32-year-old wrote on Facebook: "How is marrying a dog different if you love them?
"Today I hope we can focus on doggy-style love. I love my dog Rocco, and he loves me. Hopefully one day we can be married."

Misunderstood: Ryan's employee felt that the post referred to bestiality
The married dad-of-one admits that he isn't opposed to same-sex unions, but he is a fan of controversial humour.
And it turns out investment company Grace Tax Advisory Group is not.
Ryan told Huffington Post: "The reason I'm coming forward about this is that I don't want anyone to make the same mistake I did about posting jokes like this to Facebook."
Apparently his employers were uncomfortable with the suggestion of bestiality, and out he went.
Florida employers are 'at-will', meaning they operate contractual relationships in which an employee can be dismissed by an employer for any reason - without having to establish "just cause" for termination - and without warning.
