Pink Taxi, Strictly For Female Passengers Launches In Egypt

A new company in Egypt has made the news because they offer a taxi service only for women.

Pink taxi, hires only women drivers and gives rides to only female passengers. The idea is to combat sexual harassment by providing a safe method of transportation for women in a country with high rates of sexual abuse.

Reem Fawzi, founder of ‘The Pink Taxi initiative’ revealed that the initiative was created solely for women, with women drivers.

The requirements for the drivers include; A college degree, fluency in English or a second language apart from Arabic. The cars have a pink logo and drivers wear pink uniforms and surprisingly, pink nail polish.
